Stearns Outfitters is a family owned and operated business in the vast Teton Wilderness area of Northwest Wyoming. We started guiding hunters in this area in the early 70′s. Our solid reputation is built on good hunting, friendly service and clean, comfortable camps. A large number of our clients have returned many times and become good friends.
Licensing Information
Wyoming has a preference point program for elk and deer licenses. It is essential to start accumulating points if you want to hunt Wyoming in the future. If you are even remotely interested in hunting with us next fall you need to buy (no draw) a preference point before Sept. 30. You can buy the point online at the Wy. Game dept. website at http://gf.state.wy.us
Having the preference point will guarantee you the 2012 elk license in the February drawing.
Wilderness Camp Hunts
Our Teton Wilderness camp is located on Cub Creek, one of the headwater creeks of the Buffalo River. We run a traditional wall tent camp with a big cook/dining tent, shower tent, and hunter wall tents. All are heated with wood stoves. Our area has a proven record of success for elk and big horn sheep hunts.
Rates for 8 day hunts (longer hunts available on request)
2 hunters-1 guide $4400 Private guide $ 5300
Our hunts are still at the recession reduced rate of $4400-double & $5300-private. Our success rate is holding steady at 80-85%Reservation deposits are $500 (fully refundable until license drawing) with another $1000 due upon confirmation of license success. Balances due Sept. 1st. let us know if you need other payment schedules or dates-we’re happy to work with you in any reasonable way.
We will run 1 Bow hunt early September and 5 rifle hunts from mid-September to the end of October. We are booking hunt reservations now so let us know if you’d like us to save you a hunt.
